a. 2009 Trying Something New

Our major adventure in 2009 is an air/ground/boat/walking trip to the Peruvian Rain Forest, Peruvian Andes (Machu Picchu, Cuzco, Sacred Valley), and the Galapagos Islands, including visits to the cities of Iquitos, Lima, and Quito. No RVing involved this time so, in fact, we did try something new. We departed the U.S. on March 6, flying from Tucson to Miami, Miami to Lima, Lima to Iquitos Peru. We returned from Ecuador back to Tucson on March 24. An awesome trip. Please relive it with us!!

We left Tucson at 12 noon and arrived in Lima, Peru at 5am the following morning, only to leave at 7am for Iquitos.

After all those hours of travel, it was sort of confusing to enter the Lima airport and see the following. Thought we had landed in the wrong country.

Let’s now move on to the Peruvian Rain Forest area and the capital of that area, Iquitos.
