Lima has an outstanding privately owned archeological museum which is crammed full of terrific pottery (55,000 pieces on display) from the pre-Incan days. This means prior the 1500s, most of it from the period 200-700 AD. This stuff is in pristine condition since it was recovered from tombs and other well protected locations. No flash was allowed so some of the pictures are with minimal lighting..

This is our Peruvian tour director, Sheila Carpio. She showed us Lima as well as the Andean area. Excellent guide and area expert.

This museum has one of the reputedly finest collections of erotic pottery that exist. For obvious reasons I cannot poet them here but should you be interested in seeing them, let me know and I can arrange your seeing them. They are very interesting and I do recommend checking them out.

This concludes our visit to Lima, next we climb from 0 feet elevation to 11,000 feet as we go to the Andes. Hope you enjoyed it.
