<p>Stone Sheep.</p>
<p><img id="image843" src="http://www.meandering-melanders.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/06/img_3551a002.jpg" alt="img_3551a002.jpg" /></p>

<p>A couple of caribou in the woods.</p>
<p><img id="image846" src="http://www.meandering-melanders.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/06/img_3579a002.jpg" alt="img_3579a002.jpg" /></p>
<p><img id="image847" src="http://www.meandering-melanders.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/06/img_3585a002.jpg" alt="img_3585a002.jpg" /> The lodge at Muncho Lake. We were going to have Harry&#8217;s birthday dinner here until we saw the menu was al la carte with entrees starting at $36. A bit steep!!</p>
<p>We spent 2 nights here at Muncho Lake, in a provincial park. Just beautiful!! Especially nice was the lack of outboard motors (with a couple of exceptions). Very quiet.</p>
<p><img id="image848" src="http://www.meandering-melanders.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/06/img_3586a002.jpg" alt="img_3586a002.jpg" /></p>
<p><img id="image849" src="http://www.meandering-melanders.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/06/img_3590a002.jpg" alt="img_3590a002.jpg" /></p>
<p><img id="image852" src="http://www.meandering-melanders.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/06/a002.jpg" alt="a002.jpg" />Taken at 10 p.m.</p>
<p>A young caribou along the road after leaving Muncho.</p>
<p><img id="image855" src="http://www.meandering-melanders.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/06/img_3599a002.jpg" alt="img_3599a002.jpg" /></p>
<p><img id="image856" src="http://www.meandering-melanders.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/06/img_3600a002.jpg" alt="img_3600a002.jpg" /></p>
<p>A mineral area where one is supposed to see lots of sheep and other animals. Must have been sleeping!!</p>
<p><img id="image857" src="http://www.meandering-melanders.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/06/img_3601a_edited-1002.jpg" alt="img_3601a_edited-1002.jpg" /></p>
<p><img id="image859" src="http://www.meandering-melanders.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/06/img_3614a002.jpg" alt="img_3614a002.jpg" /></p>
<p>Our next stop was Liard River Hotsprings Provinicial Park where we spent the best part of a day and one night. The water was about 104 degrees and sure felt good.</p>
<p><img id="image861" src="http://www.meandering-melanders.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/06/img_3618a002.jpg" alt="img_3618a002.jpg" /></p>
<p><img id="image862" src="http://www.meandering-melanders.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/06/img_3619a002.jpg" alt="img_3619a002.jpg" /></p>
<p>This day we saw some wildlife including a buffalo and first black bear that stood still long enough for a picture.</p>
<p><img id="image863" src="http://www.meandering-melanders.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/06/img_3625a002.jpg" alt="img_3625a002.jpg" /></p>
<p><img id="image864" src="http://www.meandering-melanders.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/06/img_3626a_edited-1002.jpg" alt="img_3626a_edited-1002.jpg" /></p>
<p>This is a point overlooking the Liard River where supposedly a bandit gang watched for river boats to rob.</p>
<p><img id="image866" src="http://www.meandering-melanders.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/06/img_3632a002.jpg" alt="img_3632a002.jpg" /></p>
<p><img id="image868" src="http://www.meandering-melanders.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/06/img_3633a002.jpg" alt="img_3633a002.jpg" /></p>
<p>The British Columbia/Yukon Territory border.</p>
<p><img id="image870" src="http://www.meandering-melanders.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/06/img_3637a002.jpg" alt="img_3637a002.jpg" /></p>
<p><img id="image871" src="http://www.meandering-melanders.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/06/img_3638a002.jpg" alt="img_3638a002.jpg" /></p>
<p><img id="image873" src="http://www.meandering-melanders.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/06/img_3646a002.jpg" alt="img_3646a002.jpg" /></p>
<p>Our next stop was Watson Lake, where we visited 2 notable places. One was The Northern Lights Show which had a planatarium type presentation on the Lights. Interesting. The other site was fun, it was the Signpost Forest. Started by a GI during the construction of The Alaska Highway, it now contains over 64,000 signs.</p>
<p><img id="image879" src="http://www.meandering-melanders.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/06/img_3657a002.jpg" alt="img_3657a002.jpg" /></p>
<p><img id="image880" src="http://www.meandering-melanders.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/06/img_3658a002.jpg" alt="img_3658a002.jpg" /></p>
<p><img id="image882" src="http://www.meandering-melanders.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/06/img_3661a002.jpg" alt="img_3661a002.jpg" /></p>
<p>We had to put up our sign so used an extra license plate (we had 2 on front of truck since one was partially hidden by the spare tire).</p>
<p><img id="image878" src="http://www.meandering-melanders.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/06/img_3655a_edited-1002.jpg" alt="img_3655a_edited-1002.jpg" /></p>
<p>That&#8217;s it for this leg of our trip. The next installment will finish the Alaska Highway (for the time being) and move us on to the Klondike Highway heading North from Whitehorse.</p>
