01 Benson AZ thru Memphis TN
We departed Benson AZ, where we spent the past Winter, enroute to Austin, TX. We stopped at Deming, NM for a couple nights, Fort Bliss (El Paso) TX for 3 nights over the Easter weekend, made a quick overnight in Junction TX, and headed to an RV park in Round Rock, TX, a suburb just North of Austin. In Austin we cleared out Harry’s mother’s house. Mom died in 2003 but her husband stayed in the house until at age 98 his family decided he was no longer capable of living by himself. So, it was time to join Harry’s brother and one of his sisters in cleaning up the house and getting it on the market. We finally did get the job done after a few rather busy days.

From Austin, we moved a bit north to Georgetown TX and stayed at a very nice Corps of Engineers park for a week.

While staying in Georgetown, we took a day trip to Killeen, the town we lived in for 10 years and where our kids attended the schools.

The church we attended.

The first house we ever owned.

Our second house.

From Georgetown we headed further North to the Fort Worth area where we stayed at another Corps of Engineers park and visited our daughter Susie and here family. As per the course, we did a very poor job to picture taking. We did get some shots of our granddaughter Kethry who is very involved with a dance group which has performed in several cities, the most recent being Washington D.C.

We took a day trip to visit some old time RVing friends who live about 100 miles West of Fort Worth. They have settled down on a ranch and raise long horn cattle.

After 11 days of visiting Susie and family we headed East through Little Rock AR to Memphis TN. Carole was excited because we were finally seeing some wildflowers along the road.

In the Memphis area we stayed North of the city in a Naval Support Activity RV park. Other than eating excellent Memphis barbeque ribs, we spent a day visiting Graceland, the home of Elvis Presley. Since we have already visited Memphis, we limited our sightseeing to this fantastic attraction. Due to prohibition of taking flash photos, some of these are rather dark, I apologize for this.

This pretty well does Graceland and ends this installment of our BLOG. From here we go to Paducah and quilt stuff including he annual show. Hope you enjoyed it.

We have never stopped to see Graceland so am glad to see the pix. Love all the costumes! And how was the quilt show in Paducah?
